I have searched and this was something that was on Mokita's board before the Agency was lost but I can't remember.

So I do a favour and then do 5 cases. That means once I do a favour, I only have to do one more case before the next favour.

If I travel, I think this still sort of works but depends on how many turns to travel?
Are there any oldies out there that can help with this?

WB Terrance, yes this is usually correct. Usually, you need to solve 3 cases after a successful favor to get the next favor, but they do roll over in the way you described. I will note that occasionally it's 4 cases after a successful favor but that does not happen often

If you quit a case or get FA, I think that may be when you have to an extra but I can't remember and you can set up cases so when you travel you do a case and then get a favour but I can't remember how it works.

Loffrey, you can do a favour and then do up to five cases.

If you do a favour and five cases, then favour, you have one case to do before next favour.
But as above, travelling, quitting & FA have an impact.

If you do a favour and then four cases, you have to do two cases before next favour.

This really doesn't matter except if you were holding a favour for a treasure hunt and had two cases left at end of day and no room in case files.

The reason I asked about travelling is because you can also set yourself up for hunts.
You can use any cases in the case files so you dont lose out when you travel and set yourself up better to gain a favour in a new city.

CTown - about the 4 cases to a favour -
I think you can muck up the counter and then need 4 cases for a favour as well

So if I did 5 cases and then instead of the favour, I did a case, then I've mucked up the counter.
In that situation, it's then 4 NEW cases to a favour.

That could be it, back un the day I may have even known that and forgotten it! But when I remember noticing it the most is coming off a villain hunt. Do a favor and then it takes 4 to the next favor. Not always, but occasionally

Yep, I am sure you did know but there's a lot to forget!

I'm pretty sure it's all on cfm's post history somewhere.
