Some of us have interesting reasons to pick a detective name. What is yours?

jstkdn which some people don't realize right away stands for JuST KiDding! It is something I tend to say a lot in real life after a lot of sentences. A good friend of mine in the US had jstkdn as a license plate of her car, so I wasn't that inventive myself.

My previous other agent was PM, which stands for Project/Program Manager, my profession in real life.

My only detective that I currently play with is freelancermountaineer. Only because Freelancer was taken. Sidney Bristow in the Alias series uses two call signs freelancer and mountaineer.

P.S. I accidently put an extra v in my name. It was supposed to be Kittydetective.

I’m a member of a murder mystery improv troupe, and Cassie Shepherd is the name I use when I’m playing a detective. Cassie is for Cassandra the seer in Greek myth, and Shepherd is for my role in guiding the audience through the evening’s mystery. My real name is also a certain shepherdess in the Bible.

With actual conversations starting on the boards, I had fun scrolling through this thread to learn about some of the more unique names still playing the game :)

I love murder mystery improv. It actually brings back the memory of SleuthCon. We went to an interactive murder mystery dinner show. It was lots of fun. Attendees of the game that I remember other than myself:

We even had a murder mystery to play at the hotel and Rhiemma played a murder victim in her room, scared the hell out of the housekeeper of the hotel

That was a fun thread to read! Goodness if the prices were the same eighteen years later I would totally go…and hire the other Cassie Shepherd and her improv crew for some entertainment ;)
