I pushed an update that allows you to gain standing with one of the three factions (The Order of Socrates, The Dies Arcanum Brotherhood and La Cosa Nostra) by doing little jobs for them.
Stop by the faction bosses office to try it out. You can only do one such job a day, and you need to have a positive standing with them in order to start one of these jobs.
