She was born into New York’s moneyed elite, Spybuck was an alias for her work but her childhood spent waltzing through ballrooms and sipping lemonade on manicured lawns of Rockefeller, Carnegie, Morgan, Astor, and Vanderbilt. But privilege is a gilded cage, and Ruth found the cracks early. She watched the whispers of scandal ripple through her social circle like cheap perfume—politicians with mistresses, magnates laundering fortunes, heiresses disappearing into sanitariums. Ruth stopped being just another society girl and started asking questions the police didn’t want answered.

Now, she runs Spybuck Investigations out of a discreet townhouse near Gramercy Park.
