Detective Biography

Dick Wolfe didn't choose the life of a detective; it chose him, like a shadow on a foggy night. Born in the gritty back alleys of Chicago in 1897, Dick learned early on that the world wasn't kind. His father, a beat cop who died in the line of duty when Dick was just a boy, left behind a legacy of justice and a son determined to follow in his footsteps.

But life has a way of twisting paths, and Dick's led him down a darker road. After serving in the Great War, where he earned the nickname "Smoke" for his knack of disappearing into thin air when the bullets started flying, Dick returned to find the world changed. The Roaring Twenties were in full swing, and prohibition had turned Chicago into a city of speakeasies, mobsters, and corruption.

Unable to find a place in the police force that his father once proudly served, Dick turned to the only other option he saw: becoming a private detective. With his sharp wit, keen eye for detail, and a moral compass that always pointed true north, he set up shop in a rundown office above a pawn shop on the wrong side of town.
