Detective Biography
A man opens his eyes and winces from the pain of his latest hangover. The sounds of New York City, of car horns, trains, and bustling people, beat against the walls of his dilapidated apartment, setting his throbbing headache into overdrive.
"Wilbur...Wilbur...What did you do?" he manages to say to himself.
He rises from his bed like a rusted crane that hasn't been oiled in a dog's age and makes his way to his shoebox bathroom. Pushing the dark hair to the side, he catches a glimpse of his green, bleary eyes in the mirror before reflexively looking away. He takes a shower, does a decent enough shave, and exits his apartment.
He might be reluctant, but he's able to stand; It's time to solve another sorry case.
