Detective Biography
Bao Penglei never could stand liars. That was her problem. An interrogator who lops off heads dosn't get much information out of her "customers". They say she took one head too many: that of her superior. Then she disappeared. Everyone assumed she had been "asked to resign" and her body would turn up in the river. No such luck.
She has learned some restraint since those days, and some new, more effective ways to get what she wants out of people. After all, it would be unwise to call attention to herself and her past. But the old smile still curls her lip when she smells the stench of a lie. The claws of the tigress are only sheathed; push her too far and she may hunt again.
