Detective Biography

Colonialism hit hard in 1919 when The Butcher of Amritsar
General Dyer ordered troops of the British Indian Army to fire at a crowd of thousands of Punjabis gathered for the harvest festival of Vaisakhi. Disturbed by the massacre and India's subservience, Gobind Chandrakant – a Sikh and a medical researcher in Chandigarh – decides to flee West.

Arrived in Manhattan, Gobind becomes interested in jurisprudence, particularly criminal law, and begins to sit-in and observe courtroom trials. Fascinated by the deductive elements of these cases, Gobind finds work as an investigative reporter, spending his nights studying corpses in local morgues.

Further to publishing a number of articles on emerging forensic science methods, Gobind Chandrakant – the moonlighting** cowfinder* – obtains a license to practice as a Private Investigator, one with a broad definition and an ambiguous jurisdiction.
