Detective Biography
With a moniker like Juju Sweet you'd expect she would be some wilting flower of a girl, batting her eyelashes and fawning over the latest charming young lawyer on the social circuit.
Perhaps that's what her mother had planned for her.
Unfortunately Daisy Sweet never made it past the end of her labor pains to explain the nauseatingly prissy name. And her daughter had an almost compulsive need to act counter to the girlish connotations of that label.
Her father, a mediocre detective with no idea how to raise a child, did his best. Juju soon became the precinct mascot, organizing case files and playing in the crime lab.
It was no surprise when she followed in pop's footsteps, becoming a cop, and tirelessly working her way up to detective.
Then, after a particularly disasterous day of dead ends on a gruesome murder, she made a career ending misstep. Well, more like a series of missteps.
It began with a cocky suspect approaching her at the bar, and ended with him getting a black eye and a shiny new cast for all of his buddies to sign. To be fair, she did get scuffed knuckles out of the deal. He should have known better than to call her "sugarlips."
Rather than deal with the red tape of suspensions and disciplinary committees, she decided to cut ties with the place she considered her second home for a quarter century. After all, this private eye nonsense can't be that difficult, right?
