Detective Biography

"There’re many ways, my dear, to victimize people. The most insidious way is to persuade them that they’re victims."

This quote was one of her favorites to haul out back in her civil court days. She'd proclaim it in a loud, clear voice, allowing it to ring in the ears of potential clients when they were considering whether to continue rightful lawsuits or just lay down and take what was given to them.

Then of course came the change, as she took a job offer from the DA. Victims in these cases didn't need convincing of their status. Their lack of pulse spoke the final word on that. But she felt she became the victim each time a case fell apart because of shoddy police work; a mislabeled evidence bag, a clammed, or even worse "disappeared," witness or suspect.
Now Rae (or Dollface as the local papers called her when her career took off) works on the other side; investigating her own cases. Hopefully all those years of practicing manipulation in the name of the greater good won't go to waste...
