Detective Biography

Laura (or Lala, as she was called affectionately) was born in London England to a Chinese officer and a Spanish prostitute. Lala had always known her life wasn't supposed to be easy. When she was only three years old, her mother, Graciela Martinez, decided to leave her and officer Lau in order to retake her "activities", leaving only a note and a piece of seashell for her daughter and distressed husband.

Officer Andrew Lau was never the same after she left.

Becoming obsessed with his wife's whereabouts, he spent more and more time outside his house, leaving little Lala with her paternal grandmother, a strict Chinese lady who strongly disapproved of her son's choices in life. Lady Lau, had decided not to let her grand daughter follow into her parents' chaotic footsteps, and so she took it upon herself to convert little Lala into a useful member of society. Soon enough, Lala was awarded with a scholarship into one of London's most prestigious medical schools: The Dr. John H. Watson Academy. Much to her grandmother's chagrin, Lala proved to be her father's daugther and decided to chose a specialty in forensics.

After her graduation, she was welcomed into the police department, only to be disgraced a year after, when she refused to be the pawn of corruption and declare Anna Langley had died of natural causes to protect the son of a high politician. Nonetheless, Lala was not swayed from her chosen path and decided to become an independent investigator, her main goal was to find her mother and the people who had ordered her father's murder only three years ago. Because of her father's fame as a policeman, she had to change her surname to her mother's, and so Laura Lau became Lala Martinez.
