Detective Biography

It was a dark and stormy night...

Okay, that's how I like to fantasize that's how it all began. But the cold and wicked truth--the truth I still suppress to myself--is that my brother was murdered. My younger, only brother was gunned down in broad daylight. Jake was my only other sibling, and my parents were deceased. I was all alone.

And really, really steamed about it! The police could not seem to get anywhere in their investigation, and I was bored and grieving. Sure my friends all said, "Call me if you need anything..." But they kept their distance because of long uncomfortable silences. So I took matters into my own hands.

A tear here. A sniffle there. And soon even the neighborhood toughies with so-called hard hearts were blabbing to steer me in finding my brother's killer.

I really just got lucky on my first case. It turned out that it was a police detective that had shot my brother, and that's why the police could never solve the case. They were protecting their own. It was also why the neighborhood toughs were so eager to help me out. They hated the cops.

Of course, my charm helped too, else I wouldn't have been given the time of day.

I'll take luck and charm any day over some Smartie who thinks they're Einstein. Best of all, I now have a cause, a mission, to get out their and stop bad guys who destroy families in the process.

I never new that charm could be so effective a weapon over evil. Sounds biblical, doesn't it?
