Detective Biography

I was just a sucker, living in Manhattan, not bothering or even caring about other people's affairs as long as they didn't bother about mine. I lived and loved the life. I would go by unnoticed every time I took a walk with people all around me, attending to their everyday business. But suddenly, that all changed.

I was taking one of my short walks when I came across a small crowd of people gathering around something. I tried to walk past, but the increasing crowding of people swept me into the circle.

It was a body, a body that would have been alive if it had not looked so dead. There were absolutely no traces of a murder, yet the body wasn't breathing or showing any signs of living. Feeling sick, I shoved my way out of the crowd and back to my cheap apartment.

I couldn't go to sleep that night. I was wondering, "Why do these things have to happen? Why can't anyone prevent murders, or at least find out who committed them?"

I felt sick thinking about myself, remembering that I was going to walk past, and ignore all the commotion. I really didn't do anything useful with my life. What did I live for? Nothing. Absolutely nothing.

So I decided to quit being a bum and try my best to prevent murders. Or the next best thing, bringing these cold blooded murderers to justice.

So I was still a sucker that lived in Manhattan. But now I did care about other people's affairs, and was no longer invisible, but now known as the nosiest person in Manhattan by most of its citizens.

But I was already fairly successful at bringing murderers to justice.
