Detective Biography

Former Professional Gambler
Vernon Jones used to live the high life. His quick wits and natural charm won him many bets and the hands of many beautiful women. He travled the country in reckless abandon, flouting his money whenever he could. He had the perfect life right? It could'nt be further from the truth. His bad luck streak had continued for 6 months, before he realized he was in debt. He had'nt even realized. Vernon fell into depression. In a small hotel room in Chicago he started to think. He also brought a revolver. He mulled on what he had done in his life that was important. Nothing, was the eventual answer. He also began to realize that the criminal groups that ran the casinos here had profited from him. He shuddered to think of what he may have funded. It made him angry to think that people could be so cruel. "What could one man do?" he asked himself. He promptly threw the revolver out the window. Vernon changed his life around shortly after that. He vowed to make amends for himself, and others by serving the law. The police would never hire him with his record, so he went into private investigations. So there he stands today...one man against the shadow. He began his career in New York, like the rest. After his short internship in the city, he was hired by Mystery Inc. Suffice to say, it was a short employment. Numerous problems with communication led to his prompt dismissal. He bears no grudge against them, though. Vernon was promptly scooped up by T-Bird Investigations, and was glad to move back to the states. He now operates back in New York, wondering what the future will bring. Vernon came back from a vacation one day, and to his surprise, there was a pink slip on his desk. He laughed. "Cast into the wind again" Vernon chuckled. Also someone stole his camera. He then decided to start his own small, personal buisness. "Why not?"he thought. He had seen enough dead ends.
