Detective Biography

Mildred O. Gorey was orphaned at the age of 8 due to the scandalous (but no doubt amusing) death of both her parents while on one of their annual excursions in Greece with the Dionysius Society.

She thereafter continued her unorthodox childhood and adolescence with her great uncle, the famous writer/poet/curiosity Edward Gorey. He most likely had a profound influence on her, as can be seen in some of her later escapades.

Sent off to London and an all girls boarding school at the age of 17, she discovered the wonderful worlds of M.R. James, Sir Arthuer Conan Doyle, and of course, Sappho.

After graduating as an English major she spent her early twenties living it up in Paris, Berlin and Venice before settling back in America.

Now when not out socializing with America's elite or galavanting around the world with her bohemian friends, she finds she enjoys solving crimes, and is getting quite good at it too.
