Detective Biography
Elin is originally from the island of Anglesey, North Wales. She was born in the small village of Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysiliogogogoch, whose inhabitants, understandably, call it Llanfair (look it up).
From her unassuming looks, many begin to disregard her, but they are caught by the fire behind her eyes.
Elin does not speak much, especially of her past, but she’s tough as nails.
She has traveled extensively, is able to melt into a crowd, and her natural intimidation skills are top notch.

"Elin Devonshire"
by Marie Williams
I had been assisting Elin for quite some time before I began to discern her story. That's the kind of person she is, and I'd taken it for a fact that she'd always been that way, but I suppose most traits are learnt.
It happened one dark and stormy night. We were reviewing some of her old cases, and we came across the case where we'd met. Elin tried to skip over it, figuring it was better to ignore it than reopen a wound. But I saw it anyway and I asked, "Why did you even bother with that case? When you found out you weren't going to be paid you could have quit the case."
"There's more to being a detective here in Sleuth than just the money," She replied, "there's always the experience and skill points to consider."
"But seriously," I pursued, "why take on a hopeless case?"
"I don't know," she said, "I guess you reminded my of myself, long, long ago"
"What do you mean?" I asked.
"You knew I was born in Llanfair, didn't you? Well, what you didn't know was that Llanfair was the twenty-eighth stop on an excursion around the world my parents were taking. They continued on, baby in tow, and I spent the next five years of my life traveling the globe with them. My parents loved new people and new places, they could never stay in one place long. Then it happened.
"To lose a loved one is a powerful pain that no salve can comfort, no words remove. But to lose both parents in one fell blow while a foreigner in a strange city, left so completely alone, that, I'm glad, is something you did not have to endure Marie"
I thought about my uncle's death and how Elin cleared my mother's name. Yes, I still had her, thanks to Elin. "Did you have no relatives to turn to?" I asked
"Yes, I did. But in turning to him, my problems became exponentially worse."
