 Detective Biography
After emigrating to New York from Russia, Ms. Apollinariya Chekova was trapped in a Yezierskaian nightmare; though her soul burned to write the things she had seen and knew in her life, she was expected to clean floors and wait on third-generation Russian immigrants who treated her like peasantry. When her skills in English improved, so did her writing, and she was finally able to sell her reporting freelance. Still, her soul was not quieted, and she sought to help the people upon whose tragedies she had reported.
