Detective Biography



The hawk-like features and piercing eyes; the dressing-gown ; the deerstalker cap and writing pen - these details are so familiar that if he were to appear amongst us we should know him at once. Although not born into riches, it didn't take long to acheive them for himself as a successful doctor. It took him even less time to lose it all, when he refused to declare that a murder victim had died of natural causes.

He is still however an enigmatic figure, as wrapped in mystery as the crimes he tried to solve, and as in most legends, it is often difficult to separate fact from fiction.
