"Life is short. Enjoy them".
Well that's what they say in the movies. My life is long and surely not joyfull. Raised by an abusive father and an allways-working mom, i got to know the streets pretty well. Being out of the house most of the day, I made some friends as a child. Not the kind of friends my mother would have liked, but i found them very usefull in the future.
The only book i read a child was "The Hound of the Baskervilles ". I was fascinated by this book, and that's what drew me into becoming a private I.
I have worked on many cases in my life. Just thinking about most of them makes my skin crawl, but i don't regret any of them. The sick people i have put behind bars will never kill again.
I guess i made a few enemies over the years, most of them in jail waiting for their revenge. But i'm not worried.
Mabye i'm not as tough as i used to be, but with age comes wisdom, and with wisdom comes more succesfull cases.
