Kevaun was a kid growing up on the wrong side of the tracks.
In his youth he spent much of his time running around causing trouble, and getting away with it. Because of his experience with getting away with things, he knows what criminals have to do to keep one step ahead of the law, and what he has to do to foil their attempts.
After the murder of his father, a blue collar railroad worker, he turned his life around to help put a stop to crime. And that is what he is still doing to this day.
It is hardly possible to find a crime scene without spotting Kevaun on the job, thoughtfully eating his favourite pistachios as he examines the victim.
Living on the wrong side helps you stomach anything.
