Detective Biography

The night of my first case... It was a Saturday and I was in my living room in my apartment reading a book on my old lumpy couch. I heard a faint tapping noise on my window and didn't think anything of it, "Just the wind..." I mumbled as I turned the book's pale yellow pages. A few moments later I heard it again, 'tap tap, tap tap,' after that I set my book aside and got up from my couch. Then, I turned around, there was a young women out side my window standing on my fire excape stairs. I eyed her suspicously and she motioned for me to open my window. Reluctantly I did and knelt down to talk to the women, "I heard you are good at solving mysteries," she said under her breathe. "What's is to you?" I asked, trying not to sound to desprate for some action. "My name is Elloise Mansia," she started, "I have a case I would like you to solve," she said as she looked behind her nervously. I thought about it a moment and opened up the window all the way so she could crawl thru. "You know, you could have used the door..." I said as I glanced over at the door. "I know, It was too risky," she said, "My husband... He was murdered three days ago while I was out of town." I straightened up and sat down on my couch and offered Elloise a set on a chair. "I wanted to go to the police, but next to my husbands body, there was a threatening note that read, 'If you go to the cops, You'll be next,' I was too scared and have been looking all over town for the past three days looking for a detective," Elloise started again, "The bartender at the Tricky Mister said you had a knack for mysteries and was quick on your feet, so I thought I would see if you would try the case," she finished. I looked at her doubtfully, "Of course, you'd be paid," Elloise added as she pulled out a few crisp bills from her purse. "I suppose I could give it a try..." I replied eyeing the bills. After all, who could resist a good mystery and a few extra bucks to toss around. I took the case and that's when all my sleuthing began...
