Originally born Maxine Barlow-Smith, she was always tough.
A hard-headed nature and a cunning streak propelled her to becoming accepted as a detective when most of her peers just wanted to have fun.
While Maxie has written 2 hit true-crime novels and dabbles in investigative journalism, her true passion to be out on the street investigating.
