Grrrrrrrrrr...if one more client turns out to be the killer I'm gonna shoot someone! LMAO I don't mind solving the case, but a gal's gotta eat too! I hope as I gain experience into the other levels that this happend with less frequency. As it stands, about half of mine have been freebies. Perhaps the Police could pay a partial reward? hint...hint... :)

I used to quit cases out of spite when I found a guilty client. That was before I knew that they counted toward favors and knew just how experience points were tied to precious skill points....

Once you have the skills that will allow you to solve a favor you will find that the best cash prizes come from selling the rewards the townspeople give when you solve a case for them.

Pickpocketing is a skill from DAB. It gives you the reward even when your client is guilty.

However, it is not recommended that you get faction skills when you are starting out. Wait until you have all your basic skills first.
