+25 or better and you have to have the required skill points.

Also you are better off going for the basic skills before going for the faction skills. The faction skills can help a detective who already has the basics, but are a waste of time if you do not already have them.

i've only been able to figure out how to get close to the dies... how do i get close to anyone else?

Same way as with the DAB. Watch the lady with the magnifying glass. If your case makes the faction you are trying to make friends with upset, quit it. Once you are at a +1 with any faction, start doing little jobs for them to continue gaining their trust.

When you get a cut scene with the lady with the magnifing glass, make sure you read what she has to say. She tells you which faction wants to see the case solved and which one doesn't. Solve the case and you get a point in standing with one and lose a point with the other.
