Okay, I know people have said it before numerous times around the forums, but for my sake and for the sake of all the other newbies...
What evidence should I have, besides a false alibi, before I accuse a suspect?

a suspect with a false/none alibi + 1 physical piece of evidence (hair,footprint,handwriting,thread) = guilty and u can accuse.
2 witnesses + none/false alibi = guilty

2 witnesses is enough even if you didnt check foe alibi.
and 1 witness is enough if you have no/fake alibi.

Not always Reda. Believing one witness and a false alibi led to me paying shady $330000.
It is a calculated risk with 1 witness and a false/no alibi.

If I wasnt able to get physical evidence on someone, for whatever reason...if I had one witness, to someone with a fake/none alibi...I can always successfully accuse. Never had a problem with it

Same here. Could it be that you were wrong about the alibi Lady Gray?

I have heard circumstantial evidence about the WE and 1 false being incorrect, but do not yet have any proof. I believe the suspect died before the detective could accuse.

Oh, and I always accuse on 1 WE and false/nil.

Witness Evidence + false/none of your business = the murderer - or else the tutorial definitely needs some adjustment :D

Definitely right about the alibi. I had an unusual number of suspects that clammed after they had given me an alibi thus increasing the probability that the one WE I had was the mislead.
Usually you can get away with it although I have had one case where two suspects with False alibis pointed at each other and went "It was him" (This caused much grinding of teeth)
