Regardless of religion and personal beliefs the solstice is a very meaningful day for everyone so I just wanted to say HAPPY SOLSTICE!

For those of us in the Northern hemisphere tonight will be our shortest night of the year. In Alaska the sun will set for a whopping 4 hours and 38 minutes. And no, it never gets fully dark.

For those of you in the Southern Hemisphere, tonight is the longest night of the year. For me that would mean 5 hours and 17 minutes of exciting 'daylight' so I feel your pain!

The Summer Solstice is also known as: Alban Heflin, Alben Heruin, All-couples day, Feast of Epona, Feast of St. John the Baptist, Feill-Sheathain, Gathering Day, Johannistag, Litha, Midsummer, Sonnwend, Thing-Tide, Vestalia, and many more.

Enjoy the day everyone!

Cutting down a tree with a herring...like the fish, that could take a while.

It's my wedding anniversary too! And my father in law's birthday... Pretty expensive day for me lol.
