Advanced thread analysis helps to narrow down the type of thread, but is not 100% effective by itself. Smart gear can help improve it. :)

It's a question of how much smart gear you're wearing. The higher smart "bonus" it adds up to the higher you're chance of learning the additional information on the clues is supposed to be. However, even with a maxed up set of smarts it is possible to strike out and have 1 (or maybe even 2) "unidentified" piece of physical evidence.
On the other side I've also experienced to get a full list of completely identified evidence while wearing either a maxed up set of charm or tough gear, so I'm not entirely sure of precisely how it's measured :)

I think its working like your interview skills, you have a precentage of getting it. Only with smart we dont see this number.

Yeah, you're probably right Reda :)
I just find it a little strange (in lack of a better word) that when using my travelling outfit which gives me +7 for smarts that I seem to strike out in terms of getting a full list of completely identified evidence just as often as a colleague who uses an outfit with -3 for smarts. I somehow would have expected the difference in the results to have been a lot higher :)
