Some of us have interesting reasons to pick a detective name. What is yours?
jstkdn which some people don't realize right away stands for JuST KiDding! It is something I tend to say a lot in real life after a lot of sentences. A good friend of mine in the US had jstkdn as a license plate of her car, so I wasn't that inventive myself.
My previous other agent was PM, which stands for Project/Program Manager, my profession in real life.
My only detective that I currently play with is freelancermountaineer. Only because Freelancer was taken. Sidney Bristow in the Alias series uses two call signs freelancer and mountaineer.

My detective name is Marquise because I'm a Homestuck and Spinneret is my zodiac patron troll's powerful, cunning and charming ancestor. :::;)

I choose my name because i spent 7 years in the Army as a Combat Medic so the nick name Doc has always stuck with my friends and of course Lenz is my last name

Kensha Starr

It's a combination of my first name, plus my middle and last initials and my love for astronomy, specifically, stars, constellations and Orion.
Ken + S + H + stars = Kensha Starr. The a is because it sounded more feminine this way since my detective is a Jessica Fletcher, Murder She Wrote type.

Rick Meadows

I picked a name I liked the sound of when I wrote a series of hardboild detective short stories. I sort of imagine Rick Meadows as played by Bogart (who played a few Ricks but that was subconcious)... sadly I had to pick a generic avatar though.

Mac Kerrell is a straight forward pun off of Mackerel, a type of fish. Fish make great sleuths because people are very comfortable saying anything in front of them without thinking about it.

I chose Teller Westbrook because I've used this character for other things before; shes exactly the type to be a detective.

All the other names I wanted were taken and then I realized I wanted something which wasn't associated with detectives, the noir genre, etc. so I .. chose a video game character's name (Sumia from Fire Emblem: Awakening) haha.
