Does anyone know where i can find a good bodyguard in Shaghai, I am a charming detective and i do not trust the boat driver to take me back to Dehli alone with my $95,000 in winnings from the track this afternoon. Catpharac is my new hero :)

Yeah I think they forget to teach it over here, you know....kind of like our colonization history. :)

This is great to know jstkdn. My spouse is a guard at the prison, & learned self defense moves in case of an assult, but thankfully he's never use it on anyone except me.lol. I think I'm going to check it out further. I hate being out of shape.

Regarding Jstkdn's comments, when I was training with the police, the self-defense instructor taught that the most powerful weapon anyone has is the voice (not that he was encouraging the future police officers to scream for help!). The ability to talk to someone and, if necessary, command them down was emphasised almost as much as the physical parts of self-defense. I've seen a small policeman make someone drop the weapon they were attacking with out of sheer fright by the power of his voice : o )

Texan (my spouse) agrees with you Blaise, and says by talking to people you can usually accomplish more than by using physcial intervention.

I would agree Blaise. there are these situations with generally aggressive people that you can say a lot to avoid a fight. But then there are other situations.
I don't think "I encourage your to not rape me or rob me" would help.
