Yes, there was likely still other evidence around one of which would have pointed to a person without an alibi.
Even though you may not have seen other evidence, it is probably because you didn't find it due to your clothes, or smart skills.
If you feel this happens on almost all of your cases, you may want to shift a level down.
If I am confusing, just say the world, and I will explain differently.
