I wanted to give you advanced warning. I'm starting to work on three new skills for players to purchase. There will be one each from the three statistics. It will probably be another 2 or 3 weeks before you can buy those skills. I particularly wanted to warn those of you with a lot of experience, just to give you the option of saving up skill points, since they come so slowly.

Ok, I am a bit confused about these new skills:

In this thread the admin has stated that:
1 will be for money
1 for solving cases
1 for treasure hunts.

Q1: Since I'm not subscribed, I don't participate in treasure hunts, and purchasing the corresponding skill will be a total waste of points. Can the admin, or someone else, tell me which is for what?

Q2: Right now I have access only to pick pocketing, which appears to be on the tough side. I have concentrated on the charming aspect of my personality, and my equipement reflects that too. If I buy that skill will it work all the time, or will it depend on my toughness (in a similar way as advance analysis skills do). If that is so I'd like to know it because it will be a waste of points from my side.

Q3: Is pick pocketing anything more than the description given by the fraction leader? Because if it is just that, it doesn't feel very useful. (in high levels where the number of suspects is high, the probability that your client is guilty is quite low...)

If someone can give some clarifications, it would be great, because at this level of experience, skill points are REALLY REALLY hard to get, and I don't want to waste such an amount for no reason...

No Kouraditsa, I think you pretty much nailed it. The new skills appear (at first, anyway) to be a huge disappointment.

I like Hypnotism. If I don't have to waste as many questions establishing everyone's motive, I get more chances to get some witness evidence out of someone (because I haven't used up all my questions with that person yet).

I sort of like the concept of hypnotism, but it doesn't seem to help that much. I'm not finding that I have less people to question on motive, as most of the motives I get under hypnotism are either already on my list, or they're fingering themselves!

Dear Mr. Sleuth Admin:

Can we please have a way to edit our previous comments?

Oops, they are fingering themselves, aren't they. That should be fixed.

I made an effort to design the skills so that only the charm one (hypnotism) was of direct help solving cases. Charm seemed to be slightly weaker than the other two stats and I wanted to correct that. In my opinion, all three skills are worth having, no matter what kind of detective you have (with the exception of Safe Cracking if you are not part of an agency).

If everybody agrees that Pick Pocketing is not useful enough, I could add a secondary use for it. One very common complaint I get is that sometimes people in the mid-levels of difficulty get stuck with a guilty client for several cases in a row, and end up broke. So, that one in particular was based on feedback I've been getting from players.
