If you have the Thread Analysis, why do you need to vist the tailor so that HE can analyse it?

Nope. You'll get the benefit of it when searching your crime scene, though you might not get all the info each time. It still depends on your luck and the gear you are wearing.

The Thread Analysis skill only lets you find threads at the crime scene and the Advanced skill to tell if the thread is from a Male or Female's clothes. You still need the Tailor to match the Thread to the killer.
