Hello everyone. It's been some time since we've had a game of Resistance, so I'll be hosting one (without story) for everyone to enjoy. If you've never played before, feel free to jump right into the world of uncertainty and lies. I promise lots of fun. :)

The game takes place over a series of 5 "missions." The Resistance is trying to complete 3 missions successfully, while the spies are attempting to sabotage 3 missions. First one to 3 wins.

I will serve as game master. Once we get enough people to play (5-10 total), I will PM everyone their allegiance (either "Resistance" or "Spy"). If you are a "Spy," I will also PM you the names of your co-conspirators.

A "leader" will be chosen at random for the first mission. The leader has 2 important functions:
1) The leader will assign various "role" abilities to players. These are one-shot special powers a player can use to learn more information about someone.
2) The leader will assign players to the "team" for that mission.

Missions will have a varying number of players who are selected; the leader picks a team, then every player will vote on whether or not they approve the team by PMing me. Once all the votes are cast, I will post the voting results. If a majority approves the team, the mission starts. If not, the mission does not start, and the next player in line becomes the new "leader" for that round. This continues until either a mission is approved, or 5 consecutive mission teams are rejected (in which case the spies win automatically.)

Once a mission team is approved, those players will PM me their choice of action during that mission. Resistance players will ALWAYS choose to have the mission succeed by sending "Success," while spies have a choice: they can either elect to have the mission succeed (to throw off suspicion), or they can "Sabotage" the mission.

Autumn, whatever you propose I'm going to have to vote YES. If your proposal is rejected Devi can use her NO CONFIDENCE power next proposal, and instantly win the game for the spies.

That said, PLEASE, PLEASE keep Cathy, Devi, and Sindy off your proposal. I really don't want the spies to get another hit.

Cathy Rose, we all like you. Everything that goes on on this board is just part of the game. It has nothing to do with how anyone feels about you personally. Just because you're a spy in this game doesn't mean I won't be nice to you on the other message boards. :)

And that's it. Yeti has chosen another target. me. That makes it clear for me on who the spies are.

That being said. Sorry for not posting more and forgetting to vote again. This has been my first week back at work and today, after posting that I'm not sure how I'll vote I said I'd have time to read what you guys were writing, but I didn't. Sorry, not sorry. It's my birthday and spent all day playing with the kid and chilling, so... yeah.. not sorry.

That being said, back to the game. Now that Yeti is putting his target on me to not upset Cathy I'm pretty sure he's the spy. That means Bela is safe (I couldn't have randomly picked two spies on the first go, right?) and Sindy is lying. So.. yeah.. it rolls from there.

I'm not sure what you mean, Devi? I've suspected you, Cathy and Sindy since before Lou made his team proposal - I posted about it multiple times. The fact is if Bela isn't a spy, you are.

The sub-debate - Devi v. Yeti.

I still can't get a read on this. Devi likes to mix things up - she always votes "yes," but usually she plays an orthodox game. However, she did say at the beginning of the game:

"I meant that they make the game interesting. It would be boring if it all were plain vanilla, right?"

Was that an subconscious tell that she was about to do something unorthodox? I don't know.

Was Yeti's post about the mission succeeding a secret signal to another spy or was that just typical Yeti thinking that if he voted SUCCESS the world would follow in his footsteps - not pausing to think that, oh, yeah, this mission might not succeed.

Or are the spies still out there? Is Bela going to be clever enough to get herself in a position to sabotage two teams leaving the rest of us to suss out who the other two spies are?

I just don't know.

I hope you all agree on this if nothing else, this has been a great round of resistance, Spies Bravo on your performances, so far.
