Hello everyone. It's been some time since we've had a game of Resistance, so I'll be hosting one (without story) for everyone to enjoy. If you've never played before, feel free to jump right into the world of uncertainty and lies. I promise lots of fun. :)

The game takes place over a series of 5 "missions." The Resistance is trying to complete 3 missions successfully, while the spies are attempting to sabotage 3 missions. First one to 3 wins.

I will serve as game master. Once we get enough people to play (5-10 total), I will PM everyone their allegiance (either "Resistance" or "Spy"). If you are a "Spy," I will also PM you the names of your co-conspirators.

A "leader" will be chosen at random for the first mission. The leader has 2 important functions:
1) The leader will assign various "role" abilities to players. These are one-shot special powers a player can use to learn more information about someone.
2) The leader will assign players to the "team" for that mission.

Missions will have a varying number of players who are selected; the leader picks a team, then every player will vote on whether or not they approve the team by PMing me. Once all the votes are cast, I will post the voting results. If a majority approves the team, the mission starts. If not, the mission does not start, and the next player in line becomes the new "leader" for that round. This continues until either a mission is approved, or 5 consecutive mission teams are rejected (in which case the spies win automatically.)

Once a mission team is approved, those players will PM me their choice of action during that mission. Resistance players will ALWAYS choose to have the mission succeed by sending "Success," while spies have a choice: they can either elect to have the mission succeed (to throw off suspicion), or they can "Sabotage" the mission.

...Why Sindy? Has she said something to particularly endear you to her?

Bela has chosen to ESTABLISH CONFIDENCE with Sindy. I will now PM Sindy with Bela's allegiance.

Bela will be keeping IN THE SPOTLIGHT for herself.

Okay, my jaw hit the floor when I got the PM, but let me tell you that Bela Talbot III is a SPY.

Wait, what? Why would she reveal herself a spy to someone who's not a spy? It doesn't add up, Sindy!

We've all had this discussion before, haven't we?

If she revealed herself as a spy to a spy then those two become linked together. If one is proved unreliable, then the other is dragged down too. This way once we eventually find out whether Sindy or Bela is a spy it'll only bring one spy down rather than two.

That's not to say Bela isn't resistance and got unlucky with Sindy of course, just that it's feasible that as a spy she might reveal herself to a resistor.

Bela, when you're ready, please propose a team of four people.

Well, if Bela is Resistance, then you're the spy. I got the boring card again and I'm Resistance, so that leaves two options for how things went down last round. At this point there are two options. Yeti and Sindy are spies. OR both Bela and Sindy are spies and Sindy is throwing Bela under the proverbial bus.

I'm struggling to follow a piece of your logic there; why can't Bela be a spy by herself?

What I think may have happened in the past mission:

1- Yeti is a spy, and sabotaged mission #1.

2- Yeti is a spy, and so was someone else on the first mission. He voted for the mission to go ahead, confident that he would find a way to communicate with the other spy before the final votes were required of them.

Then he published a long post stating that he would be voting SUCCESS on the mission. "Consequently I will of course be voting SUCCESS in this mission"

That should of course have give the green light for the other spy on the team to vote SABOTAGE without both of them risking detection at the same time. And since he couldn't communicate with spy #2 via pm, he did so in plain slight, on the thread. Smart move, Yeti :)
