There will be 3 activities this week. All events will start on Thursday, August 11, 12:00 AM, SST. Last week was a sprint. This week (and next) is a marathon. Good luck. ;-)

1. Treasure Hunts - Week 1
This event will last TWO weeks. You need to complete a total of six hunts, 3 Single-City, and 3 Multi-City. Any hunt opened before Thursday, August 11, 12:00 AM, SST, will be discarded. Hunts can start in any city, and be from any faction. All teams get 30 points for each hunt they participate in. Teams who win a hunt get 100 points. Once teams have completed all hunts, they are ineligible from further competition in this activity.

Hunts will be divided under the following categories:

Prizes you can Wear.
Prizes you can Hold.
Prizes you can Use.

For example, The Sacred Atlas of Al Capone is a Multi-City hunt currently being run out of Delhi. An atlas is NOT something you can wear. It is, however, something you can hold, or use, so it would qualify for the second or third categories, but not the first. Another example, The Golden Ring of Al Capone, is a Single-City hunt currently being run out of Shanghai. A ring is something you can wear and hold, but not use. So it would qualify for the first and second categories, but not the third. Teams may determine which categories their prizes fall under, but only one category may be used for one prize. You must use 3 Single-City hunts in each category, and 3 Multi-City hunts. If you have a question about what category a prize falls into, please PM the Judges (Breitkat, Riza, or Squirrel).

2. Scavenger Hunt - Week 1
This is part one of two. Teams have ONE week to complete this activity. All teams must empty their Lockers of all IH favor reward items, unless they are a part of a member's uniform. Please send a screenshot to Riza Hawkeye when you have done so for verification. Please also remember that we have an honour system in place for this competition, and we are trusting you NOT to hoard things in your Apartments.

" All teams get 30 points for each hunt they participate in."

I need a precise definition of "participate."

Does participate just mean to "open" a hunt or do you actually have to make progress in the hunt? If I open every hunt open now do I get 30 points for each hunt regardless of whether my team actually works that hunt?

Sindy, Vulkie basically has the idea behind it. We're trusting that you guys play by the rules, but we're asking for verification. The locker screenshot is verification.

As for the 30 participation points, they're basically a consolation prize for those teams that work their derrieres off on a hunt, get to 80 or 90% on a hunt, only to lose it to another team (trust me, I've had that happen too many times to count; thank you Blue Pagoda for that ;-). So I'm trying to give you guys something for your hard work besides a bad taste in your mouths. But it's also not fair to just open a hunt, let it sit there, and go off and do another hunt altogether.

So let's do this: You have to get at least ONE favor on the hunt you've opened to call it ''participated''. That way, we'll know you've put in some work, and you get some consolation if you don't win the thing.

Hope that makes sense to everyone. Anyone with questions can PM the judges, or post them here.

And again, like last time, all teams need to make a screenshot (or a copy and paste of the favor reward page if you're absolutely hopeless with technology like I am ;-) AS SOON AS they find an item on the Scavenger Hunt list, and send it to Riza Hawkeye (yes, that's a change from Cairo). PLEASE, do not wait 'til the end to send all ten shots to Riza.

Hope that clears things up a bit. ;-)

Keep up the great work, Teams!! ;-D
Go get 'em!! ;-D

Is there anything in that screenshot that verifies WHEN it was taken. Someone could get a favor 5 items down the list today and take the screenshot and then hold onto it and send it in after they've submitted the other four items.

This is one reason why I'm asking that Teams send in their screenshots as they go, so they can't proceed until we know that they have the current item on their list. As for the date question on the screenshots, I'll leave that one up to Riza. (I'm the clueless one on the Judges' Panel when it comes to technology, remember? ;-)

How do you "know" we have a current item on the list if we don't keep that item?

Of course we're SUPPOSED TO turn in our screenshots as we go, but I'm just saying how are you going to verify that the items were actually found when the screenshots are submitted.

One of my agency teams got the duck caller favor today and took a screenshot. Theoretically, I could save that screenshot on my computer until we work our way down to that item and then whip out that screenshot and send it to Riza.

I'll let Riza handle that one. ;-)

Several people have asked me how to take a screenshot between last week and this week, so I'll post this here for everyone's reference.

On Windows computers, you can either:
1) Press the Print Screen button (PrtSc) on the top right of your keyboard and it will capture everything currently on your screen. The image will be saved on your computer.
2) Open the Snipping Tool program (pre-installed already) and cut out the section you want to show. You must save it to your computer.

On Mac computers, you can either:
1) Press "Command, Shift, 3" to take a screenshot of your entire screen. The image will save itself on your desktop.
2) Press "Command, Shift, 4" to take a screenshot of part of your screen. Your pointer will change into a crosshair. Drag to select the area you want, then let go. The image will save itself on your desktop.

On iPhones and iPads, simultaneously press the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons. It will save the image to your photos.

On Android phones and tablets, simultaneously press the Power and Volume Down buttons. It will save the image to your device.

After you have your image (using whichever method suits you), you can upload it to http://prnt.sc/ and the site will generate a shareable link to your image. You are also free to use any other image sharing site you wish. Or send it to me directly over Facebook.

If you run into any trouble, please PM me and I will be more than happy to help you. Or see if one of your agency mates who worked on last week's scavenger hunt can help you.

As an alternative to all the above, aim your phone camera at your screen, take a picture, and send it to me.

---

How to verify items are found in order: Please place your scavenger favor rewards in the locker so the agency clerk can log it. Then you can remove it and sell it if you wish. If any judges happen to stop by for any reason, then they'll able to verify using the time stamps. But I trust you all.

LOL Sindy, I asked the same question using the exact scenario. We got the duck collar too.

So once we find our pairs of satin slippers, we will play hell finding that collar again. Laws of sleuth.
Keep getting something/someone before needed, it/they disappear when needed.

Thank you, Riza. Unless I missed it while reading the instructions, that step was not specified.
