As Miss Hawkeye will be quite busy doing background work on the Olympics, this round of Resistance will return to its original format. There will be no story to accompany the missions, but everything else will work the same as usual.

The game takes place over a series of 5 "missions." The Resistance is trying to complete 3 missions successfully, while the spies are attempting to sabotage 3 missions. First one to 3 wins.

I will serve as game master. Once we get enough people to play (5-10 total), I will PM everyone their allegiance (either "Resistance" or "Spy"). If you are a "Spy," I will also PM you the names of your co-conspirators.

A "leader" will be chosen at random for the first mission. The leader has 2 important functions:
1) The leader will assign various "role" abilities to players. These are one-shot special powers a player can use to learn more information about someone.
2) The leader will assign players to the "team" for that mission.

Missions will have a varying number of players who are selected; the leader picks a team, then every player will vote on whether or not they approve the team by PMing me. Once all the votes are cast, I will post the voting results. If a majority approves the team, the mission starts. If not, the mission does not start, and the next player in line becomes the new "leader" for that round. This continues until either a mission is approved, or 5 consecutive mission teams are rejected (in which case the spies win automatically.)

Once a mission team is approved, those players will PM me their choice of action during that mission. Resistance players will ALWAYS choose to have the mission succeed by sending "Success," while spies have a choice: they can either elect to have the mission succeed (to throw off suspicion), or they can "Sabotage" the mission.

Since so many of you have asked, yes, Sal was PM'ed with Bela's allegiance before he proposed a team. I always try to get players their information immediately.

The serious lack of information we have to go [now to make a decision makes this game so hard. So I have to go off of gut feelings, and it feels like Yeti is lined up on the spy side this time. I can assure you that I am Resistance, which I would say either way I lined up. Okay... I have rethought this and I will vote yes for this team so we can see. We get 3 successful votes and we can be more sure if the allegiances here. If the team fails... well I know I am resistance, so at least I will know to suspect the other two I guess.

Outside of miracle revelations from Yeti, it is hard to see how to win this game for the resistance. Wow.

Let me set the record straight, Mr. Announcer, since it seems to matter to some people. Yes, I was informed of Bela's affiliation before I POSTED the proposed team. However, this is the team I had already jotted down, before I assigned the powers to anyone. Hope that clears it up a little more. Of course, you are free to believe or disbelieve me.

Thanks Sal, it just seemed like strange timing is all. :)

Mollly, I agree. In the few games I have played, I have never had to distribute powers or pick a team. I even sent the announcer a pm to sure I was doing things in the right order and at the right time. The announcer answered in the affirmative, but appartently in the meantime other questions were asked and replies were given. I know you only have my word for this, unless perhaps the announcer would verify this to you personally. But even at that, she couldn't know what team I was about to propose, because I didnt mention it to her.

The Announcer said she told you before you posted, so I believe it. :)

I'd love to know your reasoning for the team if you don't mind sharing your thoughts! I think most of us would assume you'd load up on Resistance players, so if you didn't select Bela I would assume she isn't Resistance. But then that would be an insane move for her to volunteer. There's no certainty about the rests allegiance. At least, for us Resistance.

You'd think it would be easier when you're in the game and you know, at the very least, your own allegiance, but no - not this time :D

I see what you're getting at. I'm going to put this out there; one way or another, you know my allegiance now. If you're Resistance and I'm Resistance and you're not putting me on the team you get to pick, that's a big gamble and you'd want to make sure you (because you know both our allegiances, I only know mine) let as few wild cards on to the teams as possible. If we can get our second win now, we might not even need to figure out who the spies are - three confirmed Resistance players are all we need because the fourth mission needs 4 people on it and 2 saboteurs for the mission to fail. I can still think of a few hundred ways we can mess it up after the second mission if we're being blind, but it's an almost unassailable lead. I'll let somebody with more time fill in the blanks for Sal is a spy and I'm Resistance/a Spy.

It would make it easier for me if I was on the team, and I can understand if either Joseph or jroepel felt inclined to vote yes, but no other (Resistance) player knows what's going on with you not saying anything concrete about my allegiance after it was revealed to you. I still have too many people on my Resistance list; aargh! I'm going to continue being fairly predictable with my votes; if I'm not on a team, I'll probably say no.

I have to admit, it's pretty disorienting thinking of Molly as Resistance :P No reason behind it based on anything you've said in this game so far, just force of habit :P

Hah, regarding your final point about Molly. For anyone else I'd go for innocent until proven guilty, but Molly is absolutely a case of guilty until proven innocent for me.

Molly, and yes you too Bela.

Joseph and DW both voted success in Mission One. I feel strongly that one is a spy and have said as much. So I want to see what happens with the other. We know nothing about Justin.

I said (and meant) I had this team in mind before I got the pm fron the Announcer about your allegiance. Should you be on this team? Probably, I had been looking for something specific and the information about your allegiance COULD/SHOULD have changed my mind. It all happened in a fast succession and I'm also doing the Olympics, so I was all over in my head. So, vote it down and look for another team. We might find it wasier to find the Resistance than the spies.
