As Miss Hawkeye will be quite busy doing background work on the Olympics, this round of Resistance will return to its original format. There will be no story to accompany the missions, but everything else will work the same as usual.

The game takes place over a series of 5 "missions." The Resistance is trying to complete 3 missions successfully, while the spies are attempting to sabotage 3 missions. First one to 3 wins.

I will serve as game master. Once we get enough people to play (5-10 total), I will PM everyone their allegiance (either "Resistance" or "Spy"). If you are a "Spy," I will also PM you the names of your co-conspirators.

A "leader" will be chosen at random for the first mission. The leader has 2 important functions:
1) The leader will assign various "role" abilities to players. These are one-shot special powers a player can use to learn more information about someone.
2) The leader will assign players to the "team" for that mission.

Missions will have a varying number of players who are selected; the leader picks a team, then every player will vote on whether or not they approve the team by PMing me. Once all the votes are cast, I will post the voting results. If a majority approves the team, the mission starts. If not, the mission does not start, and the next player in line becomes the new "leader" for that round. This continues until either a mission is approved, or 5 consecutive mission teams are rejected (in which case the spies win automatically.)

Once a mission team is approved, those players will PM me their choice of action during that mission. Resistance players will ALWAYS choose to have the mission succeed by sending "Success," while spies have a choice: they can either elect to have the mission succeed (to throw off suspicion), or they can "Sabotage" the mission.

well presumably the announcer wouldn't return the results instantly. there would be a delay. perhaps even a note saying "I'm waiting on x votes."

Mission 1, Team 2 consisting of Devi and Joseph was a SUCCESS.

The team members voted as follows:
???? SUCCESS
???? SUCCESS

Sal, leadership will now pass to you for the next mission.

There's a few problems with that Autumn. Not only is it a more complicated way to do things, it also means that if a Resistance member hasn't logged in and their vote is "taken" and the result announced, anyone who has paid attention will know that person is innocent. It also pays to hold off on your vote sometimes if you want to have a discussion before the next mission starts and the powers are assigned. If as a Resistance member you don't get to vote any more, you lose that ability.

Huh. I guess Devi voted SUCCESS after all. Power to the Resistance, but we must be wary about putting her on future missions.

Mission 2 will consist of THREE team members.

Sal, the team leader, has been given two advantages to distribute to whomever he sees fit. They are:

OPINION MAKER - Receiver of this card must vote first publicly whether or not to approve a mission for the rest of the game. Must be used immediately.

OPEN UP - The recipient of this ability will have their allegiance revealed to a player of their choosing. Must be used immediately.

Sal, please assign these abilities when you're ready. Keeping an ability for yourself is also acceptable.

Perhaps Devi is trying to remain under cover, but the more I think about it the more I think she DID put Joseph on the team as a double bluff, despite him also being a spy. She never expected the mission to pass, and when it did with TWO spies on the team they had little choice but to both vote SUCCESS.

Whilst I've got suspicions, the only spy I'm confident about is Devi. Our side may be one point up, but we are no closer to putting together a strong team to win the other two points. Consequently Sal, I'd like to ask you to give the OPEN UP power to me, and I'll use it to reveal myself to you. There's five players other than Devi and I in this, two of them are spies. I'm banking on that 60% chance you're Resistance, and once I've proved to you that I am as well you too can be confident Devi is a spy.

Ahahha suuure, have Yeti reveal to Sal, a fellow Spy, that he's a spy. Talk about a waste of powers. I'll be voting no on this team if it involves eithet of these two. Yeti, dear, you're putting it on a little thick with me being a spy, when it's clear that I'm not a spy and that you are. Just let it go already.

Yes, I was just about to say, no one will buy into your fuzzy logic Yeti. I was just about to state my suspicion about Sal, but you just gave it away.
