One of the most prominent yet elusive people of Sleuthville, the legendary Big Lucy herself, is hitting a new milestone in life. While none are bold enough to inquire her age, rumors say this is a momentous occasion. The guest list is comprised of the most prominent and affluent people in Sleuthville and beyond.

However, some of Sleuthville's own working class have been invited-- not as guests, but as special operatives to patrol the event. They have been selected for their swiftness, skill, and intelligence. They will be entrusted with making sure that Big Lucy's Birthday Bash goes off without a hitch. But, as always, there are those who would rather see the event go down in flames.

A mere three minutes before the event is scheduled to start, the operatives are informed of an alarming development. There has been a breach within the ranks, and a number of spies have infiltrated the group! Having never seen each others' faces, there is no way to discern whose allegiance is true. The team has been compromised, but there is still a chance to save the evening.

The operatives' job this evening is to make sure Big Lucy's birthday celebration goes off without a hitch. If she is pleased at the end of the night, it is almost guaranteed that they will lead easy lives from thereon out. Whispers say Big Lucy may be more forgiving on her big day, but even she has her limits...

Will Big Lucy's birthday bash be a huge success, or will it succumb to the sabotage of the spies? Stay tuned to find out in this installment of The Resistance.

If anyone's been on the RP stage, you may notice our latest RP sorta stopped dead since mid June. That's partly because everyone's down with some type of potentially fatal / disabilitating illness. I guess the spell goes beyond the RP stage... I do hope everyone will overcome their problems in the end. Sending good vibes to everyone, Resistance and dirty Spies alike.

On a lighter note, Sindy you crack me up!

Well I guess that's my cue. I wasn't going to post because I didn't want to hijack the thread. But it seems I'm being encouraged to by someone or something.

Here's what my week has been like.

On Saturday I realized I was losing peripheral vision of my left eye. By Sunday night I was essentially blind. We went to the ER. They did blood work and a head CT.

The blood was fine, but the CT showed something called an arachnoid cyst. The doctor said they are common, benign, usually have no effect on anything. He described it as having a mole on your brain. So he referred me to an ophthalmologist.

On Monday I rested. Tuesday I went to the opth. They did tests, said my eyes were identical. No tears on the retina, etc. Decided it was probably inflammation of the optic nerve. He wanted to see my eyes without dilation so I had to go back Wed. morning.

I went for an MRI later Wed afternoon. Thursday morning he called to tell me I do have inflammation but I also have MS. The MS is likely the cause of the inflammation. For the next 5 days (beginning today, Friday, so I've already done my first one) I will go to the hospital and get an infusion of steroids.
Im numb and terrified at the same time.

Prayers, good thoughts, etc are welcomed.

Oh my goodness, Autumn. What a terrible diagnosis to receive for an eye problem! I wish you the very best for getting to grips with everything and the future to come.

thank you yeti. It means a lot to me. Apparently the way I find out is a very common way. I was stunned when he said MS. But after I had my MRI I had this feeling it was something very serious.
