One of the most prominent yet elusive people of Sleuthville, the legendary Big Lucy herself, is hitting a new milestone in life. While none are bold enough to inquire her age, rumors say this is a momentous occasion. The guest list is comprised of the most prominent and affluent people in Sleuthville and beyond.

However, some of Sleuthville's own working class have been invited-- not as guests, but as special operatives to patrol the event. They have been selected for their swiftness, skill, and intelligence. They will be entrusted with making sure that Big Lucy's Birthday Bash goes off without a hitch. But, as always, there are those who would rather see the event go down in flames.

A mere three minutes before the event is scheduled to start, the operatives are informed of an alarming development. There has been a breach within the ranks, and a number of spies have infiltrated the group! Having never seen each others' faces, there is no way to discern whose allegiance is true. The team has been compromised, but there is still a chance to save the evening.

The operatives' job this evening is to make sure Big Lucy's birthday celebration goes off without a hitch. If she is pleased at the end of the night, it is almost guaranteed that they will lead easy lives from thereon out. Whispers say Big Lucy may be more forgiving on her big day, but even she has her limits...

Will Big Lucy's birthday bash be a huge success, or will it succumb to the sabotage of the spies? Stay tuned to find out in this installment of The Resistance.

Holy hell Yeti. You've figured it out I also didn't buy Ms Helen's ditz act. She's played before. And one thing to remember is this quote from her last post.

° The only thing I can really add is did I read right that if we knock back so many teams the spies automatically win? If so we should be baring this in mind.

Helen has played before. She KNOWS the spies win if 5 teams in a row are voted down. She's trying to push her team through so she can sabotage it and get the spies up to 2 - 0.

I admit I thought Yeti was a spy. But I know without a doubt Helen is. Yeti's analysis makes sense. Yeti, you and I have had our differences of opinion. Resistance members, take note. I am standing with Yeti. If you want the resistance to win, I beg of you, follow Yeti's plan.

What would we do without Big Lucy? We cannot let the spies win.

😳

Yeti. Dang sir! If you are right, I feel like a country bumpkin watching Sherlock Holmes solve a mystery. I know that I am resistance. I am pretty stumped on everything else. I had been suspecting Marc, you, and Keira. But I must admit that you are making sense. This game is at the next level. Did you go to the fortune teller or something? Haha.

And now Autumn is joining Yeti's side. I am not quite sure what to think.

As soon as I saw that the votes were in, I used my strong leader card as planned before Marc can form a team. I thought we have agreed on this more or less together. I then come back (after I'm done with RL obligations) to read back and see Autumn has her doubts, and wonder if we should let Marc play his team out first, because I still have no idea if Autumn is Resistance or not. She just sounded so genuine in the beginning, PM me too although it was not allowed, and I really thought at that time that she is Resistance. (if she's a spy, then most probably Marc is innocent). Anyhow I came back a bit too late as the Announcer has made my call final now.

Yeti, I'm not sure if your inductions are real or just trying to throw people off, but to clear the air this is my first time playing, and I picked people based on 1) Marc is a friend of mine from RP stage, 2) Autumn seem friendly enough. The leadership order never come across my mind.

Originally, I was hoping to get new cards so that I can get open up and see if Yeti is Resistance or Spy, and if he is resistance I can pick him and Keira safely. Unfortunately, only Team 1 of each mission get cards (I just asked the announcer about it), so now I'm still in the blind trying to pick members I feel I can trust. Besides Yeti, Helen and Autumn, anyone else has any ideas?

I would like to make some things abundantly clear. First of all, I made sure that we could still pm each other, just not about the game. Yeti responded in this thread. Second, my message to Joseph was this

Everything I've said on the boards has been in good fun.

This was only after he attacked me because I was calling people a spy. Which I will again state I had been doing since people began signing up.

Third, if Joseph can provide proof that satisfies the announcer that I have sent anything more incriminating than this to Joseph, I will resign.

Fourth, if the announcer chooses to, I will give him my password and he can go through my sent messages himself. If he sees anything incriminating I will resign.
The only other PMs I have sent were to tell someone "check the resistance thread" or something like that, and to tell Joseph I had posted an update re: my ER visit.

As for this, Joseph, " so now I'm still in the blind trying to pick members I feel I can trust." You have a list with three other names on it from the announcer at the beginning of the game (unless you deleted it). Those names are Ms Helen, Sal, and Sindy. Those people, along with you, are spies. Everyone else is resistance.

Oh and finally, Joseph, I still like you and I'm not taking this personally, it's still in good fun. But there's a little something extra in there too. ;) We can still be friends. I like you. You're a likeable guy. You're counting on your charm and perceived naivete to get you through this. I'm praying it doesn't and that everyone else is too intelligent to fall for it.

Now I see what happens when you're not around. People start making all sorts of libelous statements about you. I've been busy at work and haven't really had a chance to keep up with the thread and have just been trying to get my vote in to keep the game moving along.

My thought is that Yeti is a spy and is using his powers of persuasion to take control of this game and sabotage the resistance. He seems to be telling everyone what to do and how to think.

I just have one question for you Mr. Yeti Face:

What the hell is marmite?

Yeti, sorry but my 'ditzy act' isn't an act. The whole thing confuses the heck out of me and if you knew me in real life you'd know straight away that for me to be clueless really is no surprise, it's also quite insulting, shockingly not everyone is as smart or gets things as easy as others, things like this I do find challenging but that does not make me a spy.

Autumn you're right I have played this game before....a long time ago so long ago I can't even remember if I was resistance or spy and given that I told you before the game even started that things like this confuse me I'm really surprised you would think I even had a clue what I'm talking about.

And I'm sorry, to begin with I'd actually thought you Yeti were resistance so have gone along with what you've said, maybe and hopefully you still are however you are making a lot of assumptions about the way other people work and basing them as fact. Just because you would do something one way doesn't mean everyone would.

And Autumn it's funny how you're suddenly definite on me being a spy when Yeti has announced his thoughts on the board after no previous mention of suspecting me and that makes me question the pair of you.

You two are about the only two that I suspect and that is based on your comments/actions on this board mainly because I'm too 'ditzy' to think about anything more complicated.

That being said regardless of whether I'm offended or not we still should work together to find who the actual spies are and I personally wont be voting for any mission that has Yeti or Autmn on.

Let's get to the bottom of the important points here.. Sindy, Marmite is a spread made out of yeast extract. It's popular in Britain and New Zealand, and hated everywhere else on the planet. Australians like to consume its lesser cousin, Vegemite

To everything else; oh how the spies start bleating from the woodwork.

To any Resistance member who is unsure of me, I was lined up to be on that last team. As a Spy I could have argued for it, tried to get it passed, then sabotaged it. It'd have been so difficult for the Resistance to come back from 2-0 down. But I didn't argue to get it passed, I argued tooth and nail to have it voted down. That wasn't a Spy move. Keira and I are the most trustworthy people right now; let's save this party.

Autumn, I really thought you were genuine in your explanations and wanted to trust you. As you've said everything is done in good fun, it is very possible you and Yeti are all in this together, playing as Spies, or possibly Yeti is convincing everyone including yourself on a 'make up' list (i've no idea why he conveniently forget that Devi also voted Yes on the previous team, so now i have my suspicion on her too).

As Ms. Helen pointed out correctly (although I have my suspicions on her as well), we Resistance can only vote down 4 teams max, so, if we keep voting them down, we will have no choice but to agree to whichever members the fifth team picks, whose leader would happen to be... Keira!

It is the first time that I play this game and Yeti started off as a sure-footed leader. He said that ppl who voted yes are suspicious, and I believed him at first. Now I realize the catch in the end. Resistance wants missions to go through to gain wins too, as 5 vetoes would lead to a Spy win. Apparently seeing the yes/no votes doesn't tell us as much as i was told (as I read once somewhere, this is not a game of Master mind), and as I recently discovered, only team 1 of each mission would gain useful cards/abilities. Keep voting teams down to me now seem more like a ploy applied by spies.

That said, it's time for me to pick a team and keep having it voted down is pointless and dangerous. Yeti will definitely not be on this team and keep voting it down will only play it into his hand. I don't mind not being on it, but between Autumn and Marc it is a 50/50 chance of picking a spy. Please feel free to make suggestions (and I prefer that it is not Yeti or Autumn who makes it, although between Autumn and Marc, I'd still prefer Autumn to be in the team).

I was genuine zeo. And at the end of this game, I will be able to prove it to you. One thing I greatly disliked about reading the past games is how divisive it is. Especially here, where we have such a close, warm community. This game brings in suspicion, paranoia, doubt, and anger. That's the one thing I REALLY don't like. I hope we can all remember at the end that we are still part of that great, warm community, and hopefully nothing said here in anger would be intended to hurt someone. If whether I've known you for years or this is my first personal interaction with you, I truly do care about everyone. Some more than others but I do think this is a great group, including the organizer, Riza and the ever-distiguished announcer, The Announcer.

I look forward to actually being able to discuss the team.

A game is a game and I'm sure we're all mature enough to partition ourselves, when the game is over :) In the mean time, I must apologize that I have quite a single-tracked mind and difficult for me to look at messages from fellow players, even if the content has nothing to do with the game. Thank you for updating me on the situation with your eyes, and your health is surely in my prayers.

That doesn't make you a lesser spy though ;P
I don't mind hearing your thoughts on the team set up, as long as it is away from Yeti's influence.
