In just under six weeks, the 31st Summer Olympics and the 15th Paralympics will occur in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Athletes from over 190 countries around the world will gather to compete in some 35 different overall sports over a period of about 3 weeks.

Many people have commented recently that they would like to see some more activities taking place here on Sleuth. A few of us creatively evil types were wondering if we put together a series of activities for people, would y'all be interested??

We are looking for at least 8-12 people, of all experience levels; both hunters (treasure, casework, and Arch Villain) and writers will be needed. People will be competing in a team format. We're probably looking at Subbed players for now, but we're working on having at least two activities (not necessarily part of the teams, but supplemental to them) that will be exclusive to UNSUBBED players. All of these activities will have an Olympics theme.

So. Any takers?? ;-)

Please let us know below.

Thank you!!

I don't mind little writing challenges like writing a detective bio for example. However during the Olympics we had to do big writing challenges alongside the actual hunting and it was just too much pressure.

That being said I loved the scavenger hunting/treasure hunting/villain hunting etc and would happily do those again in whatever form they take.

I also didn't like being visited by the judges (no offence judges). It felt like there was an expectation to have done more to the agency and with everything else we had done we just didn't have time.

I'd like to see firm rules in place next time so that we avoid any confusion because that just wasn't fun at all. Also the scoring being based on who finished first is a little unfair because timezones have to be taken into account.

I love Squirrels idea of competing for our own countries that sounds like fun In response to not having as many players as we used to.....well lets get some more ;)

Lastly someone mentioned having scavenger hunts integrated into the game....I think this is a fab idea :)

I appreciate all the comments and suggestions. (I apologize for not responding sooner; I've been sick with a bad case of the flu and vertigo. Yuck.) Anyway. We will be taking all of these remarks into consideration when we put together the next Games. Some things we will use, some we prob'ly won't be able to.

There are a couple of things I would like to say. People have mentioned doing this as individuals. I'm not sure that that is possible, because the only hunts that are really viable for individuals are AV hunts (treasure hunts are only possible for agencies right now, and scavenger hunts for individuals sound like a nightmare even to my ears). Also, I know a lot of you weren't happy with all the writing tasks, but a large part of Sleuth is dependent on writing. And I planned one of the hidden objectives of the games to be to get you guys to try some things that most of you don't normally do. We probably won't do as many writing things next time around. But I can pretty much guarantee, there WILL be some writing stuff. We will also try and revisit this suggestion brainstorm, and put up a lineup of rules and expectations that everybody will be expected to follow.

Again, thank you, everybody, for all your help. I hope all of you had a good time in these games. We'll see you in Winter, 2018. ;-D

I've seen a couple people's intros out there too. I'm presuming that everyone's intros have been loaded into the system, and they will eventually turn up. So good job, guys!! ;-D

I'm hoping that everyone's twists will eventually be used also, and will be cycled in while several of the non-faction ones (and other non-critical ones, like the one with the knife being thrown at you, and so forth) will be cycled out for a while, and put on a backup server for a bit. But that's up to the Programming Department. I'm in Ideas and Creative Development. Programming's two doors down on the left. ;-)

Anyway, Congratulations again to everyone on your shiny new intros!! Way to go!! ;-D

So, there really is a Programming Department? All this time I thought it was just another urban legend.
😱 The pay must really stink.

The pay over at the Creative Department must be pretty good, seeing as there are always new ideas being bandied around.

(Yeah, there really is a Programming Department round here. The Creative Department's a bit more...ethereal, so to speak. One day, we may actually get an actual office. OH SQUIRREL!!!! ;-)

Ah. my bad then. Thought it was suppose to vanish somewhere from that list. Cool! Also, Programming Department, how about we get some kind of notification system going?
