Detective Agencies are now live, meaning you can now go to the Real Estate office, rent headquarters, and form an agency with other players. I will continue working on this through the week, but there is a lot there already, so I would like people to start testing it.

NOTES:

1) If you want to join an agency make sure you have your popup blocker disabled. You need to be able to communicate with other members via private message. That can only happen if you aren't blocking popups.

2) Until all the features (including treasure hunts) are live, the game will not charge daily rent for headquarters. This is to encourage people to start testing now, even though not all the benefits of belonging to an agency are live.

THINGS THAT CURRENTLY WORK:
* Renting Property / Creating Agencyies
* Inviting new members
* resigning from agencies
* promoting/demoting members
* agency message boards
* depositing/withdrawing from office safe
* equipment locker

THINGS THAT DON'T WORK YET:
* Crime lab
* Case Files
* Moving/Upgrading Headquarters
* Treasure Hunts

With a crime lab, you should often be able to make additional progress on the physical evidence.

I think adding a way to get another crack at some of the suspects makes sense. I want it to have it's limitations though, otherwise, you could just keep filing and re-opening cases files to get an infinite amount of cooperation from the suspects.

The most frequent problem is when suspects clam up early and you can't find new suspects, as this info may not be obtained anywhere else and you can't even a take if you don't know most suspects. Maybe adding another function to the Crime lab would solve this, for example detectives with the research skill could do background checks on suspects to find who they know and thus gain more suspects? Another idea, it would be fun if you gained a little bit of exp when you work in the crime lab, it could be a very simple amount(5-10% of what the case is worth in exp) but it would be an alternate way of earning extra exp and would reward those who often help in the lab.

Sorry for the typo, I meant (you can't even take a guess)...

Rewarding people with exp for crime lab work is a nice idea, but at the moment it might be slightly unfair towards players without (many) smarts skills? We simply can't do anything helpful in the lab, much as we'd like to!

I made a modification to what happens when you open a teammate's filed case. There is now a chance that you will notice something about one or more of the suspects, that will enable you to use your cooperation skills on them, even if the previous detective had already used Interrogation or Sweet Talking on them.

This only works on other people's files, and only works once with each mystery, so you can't just keep filing and reopening cases to get an infinite number of shots at the suspects.

Let me know if this makes case files more useful.

with the two cases so far i've seen, one worked but helped me with someone useless, the other didn't. :(

could we maybe pay some money or get half the reward ("so much time has passed...") to be able to talk with more useful people?

and i guess people in an agency just also have to be more careful about making everyone clam up!

I'm curious, if you open a case, can you re-search over the crime scene and find something new?

I haven't seen that happen yet -- that would be great though.

Is it possible to have a line displayed in the equipment locker, with how full it is? For instance -- "23/24"
