YetiFace has emerged from his cave in the Sleuth code mines after many hours of slaving away (and many ore waiting for me to get back to him) to deliver us a shiny new gift!

Or, rather, a new shiny on his previous gift.

The Detectives Note's feature has updated following all the great feedback/complaining you lot have given him. I'll let him fill you in on the details, but it's all great stuff.

Thanks Yeti!

I realised it was time to emerge from the code mine when my safety canary snuffed it from starvation. There's one or two hiccups that have appeared as a consequence of transporting the gift from the mine to Sleuthville, so please bear with us whilst we get those straightened out. As ever if something doesn't seem to be working quite right, please mention it here or send me a SMail.

I think it'll be best if you play with the features as you discover them, however the one feature that may not be immediately obvious is that it's now possible to click on a piece of evidence in the Detective's Notes evidence list, and it will rule itself out. The colours aren't displaying properly at the time this message goes to print, but that's a hiccup we're actively working on right now. The feature should however, be functional. If you want to un-rule out the evidence, just click on it again.

The colour issue is a caching problem - if the items on the Detective's Notes evidence list are all appearing as yellow links then either clear your browser's cache, or press ctrl-shift-r on the map page, in order to see the content as it should be seen.

Detective's Notes look rather funny on Chrome. There are horizontal and vertical slide arrows (excuse the layman's terminology) and you need to slide them to the right to check or uncheck the 'rule out' field. On Firefox everything looks normal.

Sorry for the false alarm, it's obviously a Chrome issue. I deleted the remembered passwords and everything came back to normal on the 'main' window, but the bug or whatever it is persists on the incognito window.

The slide arrows appearing are meant to be a different way to tackle the "double line issue", however they haven't done the job as I'd hoped. The next patch will get rid of them and try a third method.

So, it hasn't been just my imagination. :) Yes, the double lines are still there.

There shouldn't be any double lines at all. Try pressing ctrl-shift-r and see if they go away.

Thank you :).

One small unrelated question: has that pocket-sized "something" which evaded the Prince for so long been relocated, or is it still in its original place?

That pocket-sized "something" is still in its original place. It's all ready to be relocated, but I can not say when that relocation will take place.

For some reason I can't click on a piece of evidence in my detective notes to rule it out
