The New York Police Commissioner has just approved a daring, top secret mission to infiltrate the ranks of La Cosa Nostra and target none other than the fearsome Dona Isabella Santanelli herself. If all goes well, he can collect enough evidence against the Dona to put her away for life and severely cripple the lucrative crime operation.

The only catch? La Cosa Nostra has access to the NYPD’s detective base (no one knows how) and can identify any of their detectives on sight. Because of this, the Police Commissioner has to recruit from some lesser known faces- the private detectives and civilians walking the streets of New York.

Will the Police Commissioner be able to assemble his task force and infiltrate La Cosa Nostra without spy interference from LCN? Or is the mission doomed to fail, and the price fatally steep for all involved? Find out in this game of The Resistance!

Eh, I (almost) always vote missions through. Just because I'm not on the list doesn't mean I can't make a bet or two. Everyone plays the game differently.

Different play styles are fair enough, but with four players on this mission it means that if you're a true Resistor and you're not on the mission then it's 100% that there's a spy on it.

That's true, but the setup will help weed out the spies. Or I might change my mind and just veto it all.

The votes are in.

Marc Lacrimosa proposed a team consisting of himself, Lady Emerald Devon, Sal Iva and Yeti Face; it has been APPROVED (5-1). The votes:

Sal Iva: YES
Riza Hawkeye: YES
Yeti Face: YES
DevilishWings: NO
M. Lacrimosa YES
Lady Emerald Devon: YES

The mission will proceed; Marc, Lady Emerald Devon, Sal and Yeti, PM me on whether you vote to have the mission SUCCEED or if you vote to SABOTAGE it (members of the Resistance MUST vote to have the mission SUCCEED, while spies can choose to SUCCEED or SABOTAGE).

Riza voting through this mission is a bad sign for it being spy free, but at least if it does have a spy on it we'll be able to pin them down.

Molly, I'd like to use KEEPING A CLOSE EYE ON YOU on Marc for this mission please.

Mission 3:

"Alright, it's now or never." Yeti, Lady Emerald, Marc and Sal all stood at the side of the road next to the black Plymouth. Each was dressed in black, and Lady Emerald carried a steno pad and pencil while Yeti and Sal yielded cameras. Marc had a tommy gun under his trench coat, and they were ready to rumble.

"Lady Emerald, you head down this hill with Yeti and park it right by the fence over there. Hopefully you'll have a clear view of the parking lot where the deal is going down." Marc said. "Sal, you and I will head this way to the other side and be ready to cover from other angles."

The detectives split their separate ways and trudged down the hillside. They settled in for the long wait, which stretched on...and on... and on... no movement came in the black night.

Finally Marc looked at his watch. "It's nearly sun up. This deal isn't happening." He was silent as the defeated detectives headed back toward the car, hands empty. A little canary had sung on another operation.

The mission FAILED. The Spies lead 2-1.

Yeti Face will be the next leader.

Mission 4:

"What the hell, detectives?" The Police Commissioner barked. "I thought you all were professionals, but I've never been so disappointed. Our case hangs in the balance! I should pull you and can the whole mission, but we're going to give it one more shot. This mission will require three operatives. We need to nab Felix Rigatoni, the Dona's left hand man. With him in custody, the operation will be crippled and hopefully we can get another canary to sing a song on the witness stand."

"You." he pointed at Yeti. "You seem like you might not be a total idiot. Select a team of three to go on this mission."

YETI, please propose a team of 3 operatives. Once Yeti proposes his team, please vote.

Yeti, the power in this round is "NO CONFIDENCE": Whoever receives this can, after a mission proposal has been successfully approved through voting, force that proposal to fail. This would move leadership to the next player.

Please distribute this power as you see fit.

I'm suspicious of Sal. He's been notably quiet. He and Riza could quite possibly be the spies. Or Yeti, you are one good liar and you might be a spy

Well, I can confirm for everyone that you voted SUCCESS Marc, so given LED is Resistance I think that's pretty damning evidence towards Sal being the second spy. In the first game he played he was a spy as well, and he was exceptionally quiet there too.

Because of how the missions have been sabotaged Marc, either Riza is a spy or Devi is. I really do think it's likely Riza is the first spy - not only due to the YES/NO voting patterns, but also due to her quietness. Usually by this stage she'd have posted her observations. The safest thing to do though is get through this mission without either of them and see what comes up on Mission 5. If we need to take a gamble on Devi then, so be it.

Molly, I'd like to keep the power for myself and I'd like to propose a team of myself, Marc and LED.
