I've started work on the next update for Sleuth, and as promised it's going to be a content update. However, it's going to take a while before any of you see it, at least two months, potentially far longer than that.

Now I would hate to leave you all in the Sleuth wilderness, totally devoid of changes, so every one to two weeks I'll create an update from the suggestions you give here. An example of a small update (from the desk of Bela Talbot III) would be including your most recent fortune telling in the case file so long as you haven't discovered any new suspects since then.

Whilst this is going on I'll also fix up the small bugs lying around the game. For example, there's a certain accessory devouring fox that needs reining in, and possibly relocating. So don't worry about suggesting bug fixes here. Keep it to small things you'd like to see, or small annoyances you'd like changed.

I'd also like to add a suggestion. I know we already can spend skill points while doing certain nemesis tasks. But I'm still building up quite a bit of them.

Would it be too much of an overhaul if we could use them for let's say changing a townie contact? It'll have to be a hefty amount of skill points though.

Not a bad idea. I know there's heavy demand for things for changing townie contacts.

Yes, I can see why. Often agencies were built around players that have all the PE contacts covered. Over time players became inactive or left the agency and not all the PE contacts are covered anymore. This would give an opportunity to those agencies to overcome this.

Turns out you were absolutely right BadAss, and I was wrong! Directly from Ben's mouth in 2004:

"The status bonus is a small modifier for Toughness and Charm tests. So, if you try to user Intimidation, Interrogation, Sweet Talking or Rule Bending, the status bonus will give you a slightly higher chance of success. And, if you succeed, suspect/witness is slightly more likely to answer more than one additional question.

Basically, it works the same way as Toughness or Charm friendly equipment."

So sorry for chatting nonsense at you!

A suggestion to make the Sleuthetania a bit more worthwile ...

If you collect a certain amount of journal pages you can either trade them in to be exempt from paying rent for a set amount of time or get a reduction to pay off Shady (or leave the option to choose between both).

I was speaking to a friend of mine about this 'three strikes you're out' deal on FAs and what would give players more incentive to play and she came up with this great idea. Increase the amount of FAs allowed by giving 1 extra FA at 1 mil experience, another one at 5 mil, another at 10 mil, then 20 mil, then keep doubling it. So it would be one extra FA at 40, 80, 160 mil. experience.

That sounds like a great idea to me! The 3 FA "permadeath" thing always seemed really severe to me...
