I've started work on the next update for Sleuth, and as promised it's going to be a content update. However, it's going to take a while before any of you see it, at least two months, potentially far longer than that.

Now I would hate to leave you all in the Sleuth wilderness, totally devoid of changes, so every one to two weeks I'll create an update from the suggestions you give here. An example of a small update (from the desk of Bela Talbot III) would be including your most recent fortune telling in the case file so long as you haven't discovered any new suspects since then.

Whilst this is going on I'll also fix up the small bugs lying around the game. For example, there's a certain accessory devouring fox that needs reining in, and possibly relocating. So don't worry about suggesting bug fixes here. Keep it to small things you'd like to see, or small annoyances you'd like changed.

I would like to be able to "mail" gear to others outside my agency.

We could pop a post office in every city, and you could actually have it mailed between offices.

Yes please! Maybe even that trading post? There could be a fee charged, if necessary, and a message board (like the one at the racetrack/Lucy's/Shangri-La). I think having both features (being able to mail gear and a trading area in all the cities) would be neat. The trading post could work like a pawn shop, or you just sell something to the shop and people who are looking to buy something will get to choose from whatever the shop has stocked, or it could have some kind of auction thing going on - the seller would put something up and interested people could try to outbid each other (message board! Or a live chat thing, but those never seem to stay up).

On a different note - I've been enjoying my first Nemesis Hunt and just used the Race Track for the first time in my entire Sleuth life and had fun with it. I've been thinking it's kind of a pity that we don't have a little "mission" for new players that takes them around the Sleuth world and briefly introduces them to some of the features of Sleuth (like the race track in Shanghai, the catacombs in Cairo, etc.). Their first client could be a rich one who pays all of their expenses on their first case that takes them around the world in X amount of days.

Hope you all have a great weekend!

Ann unsave button in the Sleuth mail box for when you accidentally save a message or no longer need it, etc.

In regards to mailing items - no need for a post office:

"Paying to mail an item to a detective in another city. You’d get a sleuth mail saying, “You have a package waiting at the docks/train station.” You can choose to return to sender at no cost to you or accept it. If you don’t have the appropriate slot open you’d have to sell an item or send one to your agency/apartment locker (of course it can be mailed back to you later if you need it). Once this system is in place I wouldn’t be opposed to having to pay to mail favor items back to my home city instead of the current magical transportation system."

And from the same 2007 post:

"Being able to pay the detective shop a fee to “peek under the counter” for a chance to buy a random IH favor item." (or even better, the opportunity to peruse inventory of items actually sold by other sleuths)

Would you be sending packages through the docks/train station as well?

I'd never fully considered the SENDING part of the transaction, but I suppose it makes sense. More sense to me anyway than the hassle of popping a new icon into every city.

Maybe use the space under the Sleuthetania box?
