Double Click on Evidence Townies Bug

You may have experienced this over the last two days, possibly most notably with the option to bribe physical evidence townies. For example, you may have gone to the Shoemaker, asked to have a footprint analysed, paid a bribe and then found the game tells you that you can't bribe a townie more than once a case - as though you'd clicked twice on the bribe button instead of once. This isn't so bad with the bribe part itself, as the evidence has still been analysed, the real problem emerges when you've got two questions left with a townie and the game blows through them both in one go, cutting your detective out of a question.

So far I've found this bug is a Mozilla Firefox problem, and playing the game with Google Chrome has totally avoided the problem. There have also been no reported issues with the Opera browser. I'm sorry to have to ask people to use a different browser to their favourite, not being able to use Firefox pains me too, but until we've cracked down on whatever is actually causing the issue using a different browser for your cases looks like the best move.

If anyone has any further information about this bug, please either mention it here, on the announcement thread, or send me a message.

Just to say I'm using IE11 and I'm not having this problem, despite bribing like crazy.

Thanks Cordelia. It sounds like Internet Explorer is fine as well then.

I strongly suspect this is a Firefox only issue, and I believe I know how to solve it, but I won't know for certain until the fix hits the live game.

The fix is in, and Firefox now works again on the site.
