Our Friend YetiFace has been hard at work again improving Sleuth.

He's moved the icon toolbar around on the map page. More importantly, townie locations relevant to solving cases are now linked to each other with their own toolbar. So you shouldn't have to jump back to the map screen as often.

Yeti's working on a few other similar improvements that should help take a lot of the tedium out of Sleuth, and reduce the opportunities to make silly mistakes while you navigate.

Tell us what you think!

Sounds like a great plan Yeti - looking forward for an updated screenshot with that feature implemented :)

Here's before and after pictures for adding the (r)(f) extensions:

They're a little unattractive, but easy enough to have in there if people want them.

So many links. It obviously means that there's just that much work going into it, but there are so many links. The upside is this: I am getting used to the toolbar up there :D

Okay, all of it looks great. The "r/f" thing sounds good; it seems a lot like what you would write when you're taking quick notes. Maybe you should have it in caps, so that it's still clear. With the "real/fake" on the suspect's pages, it wouldn't be too hard to guess it in case you didn't know or something.

When does the 'crossing-out' difference in the pre-rule-out and the post-rule-out thing show? When you reload the page?

Oh, and a new tutorial might not be all that essential; a new player might be able to make sense of it right away since, unlike the oldies *wonders if she must brace for impact*, they won't be used to it being any other way. Plus, it'd be an easy case, and stuff that we picked up and learned to look for after a few hundred (thousand?) cases might be apparent to them when listed out on the helper. I don't know if I'm not seeing something, but they'll probably take to it right away.

There's an image showing a dead suspect (which Riza Hawkeye kindly pointed out I hadn't included a picture of, and if truth be told even thought about) with ruled out suspects pushed to the back of the list (SS's suggestion) and the ruled out suspect's borders being turned grey (Bela's suggestion).

Now to Bela, the crossing out difference occurs when you click the "Rule Out Suspects" button. Like when you select items to take from the agency locker.

More features included here. One can now identify the client in the notes, all the evidence of the case is listed immediately below the "Detective's Notes:" title, and there's a "Research Case" button to the left of "Rule Out Suspects". Whether people approve of including the Research Case button is something I need to know.

I like the having all the PE listed above the boxes, and the Research button.

The Research button is fine and so is the f/r info. It's also good to have included the info on the dead suspect.

So far as I can tell then, the idea seems all fleshed out. The next stage will be getting it implemented, so everyone can actually use it, then dealing with any concerns or display issues that crop up after that.

I love it. I've been gone for 5 years. So I'm like a half noob. If these changes were made, Sleuth Helper would not be necessary. (Pidgeot, please take no offense to that. I love Sleuth Helper, it's been the absolute best friend to me over my Sleuth playing years!) And if you made this game mobile friendly, I think I'd explode with excitement. I could get my kids into this game. My son especially loves logic/puzzle games. We could play as a family! Sorry...got sidetracked.

Anyway. My vote, if it counts for anything, is a big YES!
