After a period of absence, THE RESISTANCE has returned to the Sleuth boards with a healthy Yeti-flavoured taste.

For those unfamiliar, The Resistance is a social game of limited information. Players are split into two teams, one team being true members of the resistance, and the other being spies who have infiltrated the group. Over a course of five missions, resistance members aim to have three missions succeed, whereas spies aim to sabotage three of them. The only way for players to communicate with each other will be through this thread.

I'll post a detailed set of rules once the sign up process is over, but to give you an idea of how the game goes the first The Resistance thread on the Sleuth boards is here: http://noir.playsleuth.com/map/cityhall/post.spy?id=34582&first_record=302111

We'll need five to ten players in order to start the game. I'd like to keep this game flowing, so before putting your name down please make sure that to the best of your knowledge you'll be able to log in at least once a day for the next two weeks. You will not receive financial payment for playing THE RESISTANCE.

Soheir I think you miscounted unless I'm mistaken Devi assigned three new Detectives to catch Sir Wolf. I hate to have to agree with Soheir but, I can't say I'm suprised that the mission failed either, the odds were against not having at least one spy on the mission with three unknown Detectives and eventhough it's risky to make the sabotage vote, they couldn't afford to allow it to be a success because that would put the resistiance up 2 - 0.
So to look at the positive aspect we know that at least one of us three is a spy, making it very dificult for him or her not to be discovered because it they vote to sabotage again with new members it will seriously jepordize their cover. And the only way to circumvent this is to place both spies on the same team which is generally considered a very bad idea because of the chance of both being discovered. It's unfortunate for TD to have to choose a team of four, because the odds are very good that there will be another spy and possibly both on the next mission. Let's hope it's both because unless they break the comunication rules there is no way for them to know if the other will vote to sabotage, so they either risk it for the win or vote success in which case the resistiance goes ahead 2 - 1. I would suggest that TD pick a team of Himself, Devi, Sal and either Mac or Soheir. I would choose this because of the reason I gave earlier, I know that I'm not a spy and it will be very difficult for the spies to go undiscovered but it's unfortunate that we didn't get a better power card.

1. Out of clutter, find simplicity. 2. From discord, find harmony. 3. In the middle of difficulty lies opportunity.

Lou, this is creepy. After careful consideration I came up with the exact same team but you beat me to the punch! I really must have my office searched for bugs.

For this mission I propose Sal, Devi, Mac and myself. I will keep the special power card, Strong Leader, for myself.

Oh boy, I'm out. Well, then you're one Resistance member short Turtle, unless of course you already know that. ;)

Lou, I said Devi added two new detectives, because I'd already been on a mission, so I didn't count myself - plus I know I'm Resistance. And from my perspective, I have now confirmed that either you or Mac are a spy.

So to sum it up - from my perspective, of course:

Resistance:

Devi
Soheir

Possible Spies:

Lou
Mac

Which means that there is one Resistance, one possible Spy and two Unknowns on Turtle's team. Sorry TD, but I can't vote for a team that doesn't have at least two Resistance members to increase our chances. :(

Mission 3 Team 1:

Turtledove has proposed a team of Devi, Mac, Sal and himself for the coming mission. Please message me with your YES/NO votes for whether this should go ahead.

Not so creepy, and no I don't have you office bugged nor did I visit the Fortune Teller, it's just the next logical step. I agree with your excellent choices, it's EXACTLY what I would have chosen , but it's risky because it most most assuradly puts a spy on the team and possibly both . If we can get a positive identification on at least one of them we are half-way home. Let's see how the vote turns out I'm thinking that it will be positive because Spies usually vote yes on missions where they know that there is a spy on so they can sabotage. Also a very good call keeping the power card for yourself as I'm resonably sure you're part of the resistiance.

Soheir help me out; from my perspective Mission 1 was TD and Devi, you were leader but I don't think that count's for ruling you out as a spy because you didn't get to vote. Not trying to be difficult just trying to understand your logic and make sure I didn't miss something.

Everything should be made as simple as possible, but not simpler.

After fuming for a few hours over the failed mission, Devi was sure that she knew who the spy was. Now that she was preparing her weapons for yet another mission she breathed out a sigh of relief because they still had a chance to win this whole thing.

Wrapping the cote around her, Devi pulled up the hood over her head, tucked one gun in her knee-high boots and another in her pocket and moved towards the meeting spot.

Just within visual range, Soheir lit up another doobie as she watched Devi make her way to Turtle's designated meet-up spot. Even from this distance she could tell that Devi was quite pissed off, and rightfully so. She shook her head at not being able to accompany her if the mission was approved, and wished with all her might that the spies were outnumbered on the upcoming vote.

A sudden tap on the shoulder made her turn around only to find a policeman with fixed eyes on what she was smoking. She smiled, took out a 10 LE note and offered it to his waiting hand.

"Actually, keep the money and I'll take a drag of that." said the policeman.
"Here, keep it," said Soheir smiling, "Something tells me I'll need something stronger for what's to come."
