Greetings, people of Sleuthville! The time has come once again for the annual Sleuthville Arch-Villain Hunt Tournament. This year, in an attempt to change things up a bit, I’m happy to announce the return of the one-on-one matchups! Oldies and newcomers alike are welcome to participate. What better way to stave off boredom than a little friendly competition?

The format will be 16 detectives, each randomly paired off by a magic baseball hat to face one other person. For this competition, players going through Cairo will have a day taken off their totals. The fastest player(s) from each round will go on to the next round until a winner is determined. In the case of a tie (same day capture), both players will move on to compete in a triple threat matchup. Failed hunts will not count against you; you will not be disqualified. If you fail your hunt and would like to start another, you may, but the day count will start from the official start date of the round. The last one standing wins.

The rules:
- Either PM me or post here as soon as possible if you find that your hunt goes through Cairo, so I can keep accurate records.
- In the spirit of competition, trash-talking is allowed, just as long as it is friendly and appropriate.
- You may not PM me to ask for any AVH hunt help or advice.
- If you are unable to compete in a round for whatever reason, you are allowed to ask someone to sub in for you for that round only. This privilege may only be used once, and only in emergencies. The player who is subbing in for you may be anyone who is not competing in the current round, even someone who was not initially entered in the competition.

You may:
-travel to Shangri La the night before, but NOT start the hunt
-use a travel kit
-use head of faction privileges
-use agencies and apartments to swap gear

This is war, Dashing; I won't be waiting for you to post the results any more! Yeah, I went there.

Oh, but I can't if it's in the middle of the week, so y'all be a peach, and refrain from catching your villain then :) After all, you have to consider the principles we're fighting for, and the repression we face, and above all, the super-bad villain we're all up against: Dashing (No, WHY would you think I'm talking about the Arch-Villains? Just, WHY would that thought even cross your mind??
Oh, right, AVH competition. Sure, I knew that :) Totally knew that :) Definitely. Can you stop talking about it already?!?!)

Anyway, down with Dashing!

I'm all out of cases, so I'm going to have to bow out now. Interestingly enough in terms of successfully completing cases this was my best run, I've only had to quit a single one. It's a pity I couldn't apply that success to the repeat clues department, nor to whichever department it is that distributes clues in such a manner that after one to three clues you've got enough to go on to catch the villain rather than five.

I've really enjoyed this competition, and I wish all the best to the participants who are able to continue with it. I wish particular luck to Mortimer Maze who despite being the least experienced player of all of us who remain is jumping hurdle after hurdle. Good luck everyone. As for me, I think I'll simply have to catch a few more villains and then bag a Nemesis to sob my loser tears into.

Thank you for the tough competition... Daily we ran side by side after our villains, everytime I turned to the City Hall you being there Yeti!
It was just fortunate for me this time.
Good luck to the others and see you in Shangri-La Sunday night for starting the final stage of this contest!
