See if there is interest for this.

1. Each day I will post 10 questions, at random times of the day.
2. Each Quiz runs exactly 24 hours.
3. The first person that has all 10 questions right, wins. Or if no one has all questions right, the best one wins.
4. You can only post answers ONCE for the same quiz.
5. No cash involved. Just glory. :)

1. More commonly Sindy is right, it's referred to as being equal to 3 nautical miles or 5.56 kilometres. But it used to be the distance a man or horse could walk in an hour (which whilst being roughly 3 miles varied form time to time)
2. The Red Headed League
3. King Solomon's Mines
4. Robert Louis Stevenson
5. Chelsea
6. TRUE... err two US people have said false... But I thought the NFL was the main gridiron league in US? I'll be happy to be corrected :)
7. Movie = Electric Dreams ('Together in Electric Dreams' is the title of the song)
8. Rockford Peaches
9. Tom Hanks
10. Sir Percy Blakeney
11. the Amazons

Bonus 1. Virginia Madsen
Bonus 2. Sleuth Sindy (and for her "moi" will do :) )

Bonus 3. Hercules
Bonus 4. Yes ED, Kathy Lee Crosby was Wonder Woman in a telemovie in the 70's so I'll go with that too :) But I was thinking of Lynda Carter.

So that would make Sindy the winner. And also whether she knows it or not, the co-ordinator of the next quiz. lol

Heck - I don't know the answers to these either. I thought surely someone would. :(

Well . . . I'll do my best!

1. 1621

2. Plymouth

3. Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade

4. Santa Clause; signifies the beginning of Christmas

5. Black Friday

6. Abraham Lincoln - George Washington did proclaim a Thanksgiving festival in 1777 but it was for that year only, not a recurring event, and it was not on the last Thursday of November.

7. Franklin D. Roosevelt - to give the merchants more time to sell Christmas merchandise - oh, the true Christmas spirit!

8. 1941

9. 2nd Monday in October (would a kindly Canadian correct me if I'm wrong)

10. Martin Frobisher - more commonly known as Crunchpatty :)

Biggie gets the Big Laugh Award for making me laugh the hardest - but the Sleuth Cup goes to Emerald Drew with 5 correct answers.

Perhaps since we have such a diverse community in Sleuth, this wasn't the best quizz to post, but there it is. I'm sure Emerald will do a much better job. :)

*frantically scribbles "Martin Frobisher" on one of those "Hello my name is..." shirt sticker things, giggling like an 8 year old in a poetry class who just realized what "Venus" rhymes with.

#9 - *kindly Canadian voice* Ya got it, Sindy. But instead of turkeys...yeah we roast hockey pucks. Mmmm, pucks!

OK back to the program:
